Let’s see the recipe for this delicious dish:

Ingredients Required:

  • 250g cottage cheese (cubed)
  • ½ cup thick yogurt
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup bell peppers (diced)
  • ½ cup onions (diced)

  • Add the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, cumin, garam masala, red chilli powder and salt in a large bowl and mix well to form a smooth marinade.
  • Add the cubes of paneer to the mixture and gently mix until evenly coated. And keep it aside for 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  • Keep a pan over medium heat and add oil.
  • Once the oil is heated, add bell peppers and onions to the pan and saute for 2–3 minutes til they are lightly brown.
  • Add in the marinated paneer cubes and stir to combine everything together. Cook for 4–5 minutes and stir occasionally.
  • Add lemon juice and mix well.
  • Serve the delicious paneer tikka hot with mint chutney or yogurt dip.

Tip:  For an authentic tandoor-like smoky flavour, add a piece of smoking charcoal to the marinade before adding paneer.
