Originating from North India, Paneer Tikka is a delicious dish that has captured the hearts and taste buds of food lovers worldwide. It is made from fresh cottage cheese cubes marinated in a mix of yogurt and aromatic spices, then grilled to perfection.

Ingredients Required:
- 250g cottage cheese (cubed)
- ½ cup thick yogurt
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp garam masala powder
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ cup bell peppers (diced)
- ½ cup onions (diced)
Preparation:
- Add the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, cumin, garam masala, red chilli powder and salt in a large bowl and mix well to form a smooth marinade.
- Add the cubes of paneer to the mixture and gently mix until evenly coated. And keep it aside for 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
- Keep a pan over medium heat and add oil.
- Once the oil is heated, add bell peppers and onions to the pan and saute for 2–3 minutes til they are lightly brown.
- Add in the marinated paneer cubes and stir to combine everything together. Cook for 4–5 minutes and stir occasionally.
- Add lemon juice and mix well.
- Serve the delicious paneer tikka hot with mint chutney or yogurt dip.
Tip: For an authentic tandoor-like smoky flavour, add a piece of smoking charcoal to the marinade before adding paneer.
