Craving for some yummy steamed dumplings or momos? If so, then we have a quick and easy way for you to satiate your love for momos at the comfort of your home. There’s nothing more delicious than a plate full of momos, but making it at home does seem like a task.

So, to simplify the process of making momos at home. Here is an easy step-by-step recipe you can make at home. A popular street food among the youngsters these days, momos are undoubtedly one of the easy snack recipes you can make at home. Then this is just what you need. We’ve got an easy recipe with all ingredients listed out in detail. You won’t even feel like cooking because it’s such an effortless process.

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 450 gm all-purpose flour
  • tablespoon refined oil
  • Salt as per your taste
  • 1-inch ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon chilli garlic paste
  • 300 gm boiled chicken
  • 5 green chilli
  • 2 large onion
  • salt as required
  • 2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • black pepper as required
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1 tablespoon pepper powder
  • water as required

Preparation:

  • Wash all the vegetables in clean water and set them aside to dry
  • Chop onions, bell peppers, capsicum and onions into fine pieces pieces
  • Slit the chillies and keep them aside
  • Clean the chicken in freshwater
  • Boil the chicken in the pressure cooker adding two pinches of pepper powder and salt
  • Now, take a deep bowl and put the all-purpose flour, with a pinch of salt and 1 spoon of refined oil
  • Knead the mixture till the oil mixes well into the flour.
  • Add water and knead until it forms a loose consistency dough
  • Cover the dough and put it aside
  • Once the chicken is boiled, shred it into thin wire- pieces
  • In a new pan on low flame, add oil and it heats a little
  • Add chilli-garlic and ginger paste into the oil until it turns slightly yellow
  • Put the slit chilled and stir
  • Immediately add the small pieces of veggies and boiled chicken into it
  • Now add the salt and pepper as per your taste.
  • Finally, add some soy sauce and stir well.
  • In a few minutes turn off the flame and keep the pan aside
  • Once this filling is cooled down, make small balls of these
  • Now take your prepared dough and make small balls out of it
  • With a rolling pin flatten the dough balls into an oval shape
  • Fill the inside with the filling and bring the edges together in a ruffle-like pattern
  • Transfer these momos into a steamer for 15 minutes or until they turn soft and tender.
  • Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or tomato chutney

Tip: To make the perfect momos keep the edges thin. You can also deep fry these momos if you are looking for a crunchy texture.
